LEGO Fortnite brings players the biggest map ever in the game, almost 20 times the size of the regular map.

Not only is it bigger, but it has a solid foundation, giving a virtual world to the popular pastime of building worlds out of Lego.

Lego Fortnite is a completely new world where you must survive, build, and recruit villagers to grow your own little Lego town.

Like many of Fortnite’s other popular modes, it has drawn heavy inspiration from another popular game.

But despite the obvious parallels with Minecraft, it manages to carve out its own niche.

The mode impressed us so much that we think it has the potential to become as big as the main Battle Royale mode itself.

You can construct pre-planned buildings if you want something you know will look good, or you can design one yourself.

Just like the Lego sets it is based on, you can choose to play by the rules or go completely off the rails.

Similar to Tears of Kingdom, you can also build your own vehicle and even ride in it.

It’s one of those weird physics puzzles where you never know quite what you’re going to get.

The developers at the playtesting site had obviously had a lot of time to build before us, and one had a floating fortress that roamed around the map.

What makes Lego Fortnite so different from Minecraft is this idea of having your own village.

You build a village, recruit NPC villagers to move in, and then give them jobs to help out.

These villagers will need to be protected from incoming enemies and so you help each other out living in your commune.

We were impressed just how much thought had gone into this additional Fortnite mode, after all it was a gamble as to whether it would even be popular.

However, the focus on positive interactions, like petting animals instead of killing them for resources, shows that a lot of thought has gone into it.

As you expect, everything is made with Lego, making it both constructable and destructible.

This is one of the most consumer-friendly additions ever, adding more playability to an already robust free-to-play game.
