AN UNLUCKY woman who narrowly missed out on an eye-watering £3.6million lotto jackpot cried “why do bad things always happen to me”.
Nicole Makrigannis, 23, thought she was in to win the Set for Life draw – which would have seen her take home a whopping £10,000 a month for 30 years.

The makeup artist, from Liverpool, picked the numbers 3, 12 ,20 ,39, 44 and 6.
She watched in shock as the winning digits were announced.
Nicole’s jaw dropped when she saw each figure was just one less than she had chosen.
The balls drawn were 2, 11, 19, 38, 43 and 6.
She said: “Oh my God.
“Why do bad things always happen to me?
“It wasn’t in the universe’s plan to let me live my life.”
People were as stunned as Nicole when they discovered her misfortune.

One baffled punter stated: “This would be my 13th reason why.”
Another suggested there were bigger plans at play and said: “It’s called ‘one off’.
“Usually means you’re really close to the big win.
“The universe is just testing to see how you’ll respond.”
A third said the nail-biting coincidence would be enough to send them over the edge.
“No, this would begin my villain era not going to lie,” they penned.
Another added: “Just the words ‘set for life’ after seeing those numbers would’ve had me rocking back and forth in the corner sobbing.”
It comes as a man told how a heartbreaking decision saw him miss out on a mammoth £61million lotto win.
Paul Ridge, 76, was gobsmacked when ex-wife Debbie Nuttall, 54, claimed the latest EuroMillions jackpot.
Now the ex-husband, who hasn’t seen his former wife for 30 years, has told how he would “be very grateful” if he saw a chunk of the winnings.
He told the Mirror: “She can donate some of her winnings to me if she likes. I’d be very grateful!”
Meanwhile, a couple who thought they scooped an eye-watering £182million EuroMillions jackpot were gutted to receive a crushing message.

Set for Life’s top prize is £10,000 a month for 30 years.
To play Set for Life you pick five numbers from between one and 47 plus one Life Ball number from one to 10.
Then choose which days you want to do the draw and the number of weeks you would like to play.
You can play up to seven lines of numbers and buy up to 10 play slips at a time.
