SHOPPERS have spotted a new “mystery” Fanta flavour on shelves – but fans are divided.

The Coca-Cola-owned brand unveiled a new, purple-coloured fizzy drink as part of this year’s #WhatTheFanta.

And one soda fanatic shared a photo of the new drink on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

They said you can pick up eight cans of the zero sugar Strawberry Cheesecake flavour at Heron Foods in Crossgates, Leeds.

And fellow bargain hunters were quick to comment on the post – however some weren’t convinced by the new flavour.

One said: “Love them only when poured into white wine to make a spritzer/ cocktail.”

Another commented: “It’s awful. Myself and my three kids tried it and none of us could drink it. It’s so sweet.”

A third questioned: “Feel like there’s no mystery – they are all this flavour.”

A fourth wrote: “It’s rank. I’ve bought 2x24x330ml cans and I absolutely hate it.”

It comes after Fanta launched the Raspberry Zero Sugar flavour in 2020 and Fanta Zero Strawberry and Kiwi in 2022.

It also unveiled Fanta Zero Watermelon last year.

Drinks giant Coca-Cola also increased the price of a 2l bottle of Fanta by 19p, according to Trolley’s grocery price index.

In March 2022, a 2l bottle of Fanta Orange cost an average of £1.92 but a bottle will now set you back around £2.11, the data shows.

This is an average increase of around 9.9 per cent, despite its recipe remaining unchanged.

Meanwhile, Marks and Spencer has released its own soda brand with retro styling on the can and retro flavours like cream soda.

Costa has also launched a winter menu of food and drinks, including a thick milkshake drink, but warmed.

They come in three different flavours: White Chocolate and Strawberry, Salted Caramel Coffee, and Chocolate Hazel.

Tango is set to release Raspberry Blast and Cherry Blast flavours, which are the two flavours in the Ice Blast slushy.

Fans can also get an alcoholic Tango Ice Blast cocktail, but it’s only available in one British bar.

In addition, Vimto Discovery Zero is set to release new flavours with a passionfruit and lychee, and a mango and dragon fruit flavour.
