A WOMAN has told how she bought her first home without ever even visiting it.

Alison Little spotted the house in Wallasey, Liverpool, online and decided to take a chance on a “fixer-upper” because it was all she could afford.

She put in an offer after having a “lightbulb moment” when her dad bought a van that he was going to renovate.

Alison, originally from Northern Ireland, told the Liverpool Echo: “I’d seen it online and I thought that’s for me.

“I didn’t actually view the property before buying it. But it looked pretty well kept. There was a family living in it before.”

She was forced to judge the house only through a video call with the estate agent.

She loved the “original Victorian features” and “good sized garden” and set about renovating the rooms.

So far she has completed the bathroom and bedroom – but has already started on many of the other rooms.

She used a reclaimed wooden door, exposed wood beam and free-standing bathtub to transform the bathroom.

And she thinks the entire house could be completely liveable by the end of the year.
