The Avon-style business lets individual consultants sell products to customers from the comfort of their home.

Thousands of consultants currently use the Body Shop at Home service and some have launched huge closing down sales in a bid to clear out their remaining stock.

Sharing details of the sale on Facebook, one consultant said: “Just over a week until the Body Shop at Home closes it’s doors.

“I’ll be holding a stock sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“There are three sections: Face and skincare, bath and body, hair, make-up and fragrance.”

There were no details of specific prices, but there will be discounts of up to 50%.

Elsewhere, another consultant posted: “I will be putting an order through before The Body Shop at Home officially closes on February 23, so let me know if there’s anything you want.

“There is 15% off body care (shower gels, body yoghurts/butters, hand creams etc).”

These are just examples of the discounts we could find, but each offer will vary depending on the individual consultant.

Consultants in Australia are also looking to make a profit on their remaining stock.

Shopping discounts – How to make savings and find the best bargains

One social media user said: “Sadly, The Body Shop is closing down the independent consultant side of the business, which means I’ll also be closing mine.

“Thanks to everyone who has supported me over the last five years, I’ve appreciated it.

“I’ll be clearing out my stock, so if you’re interested in a bargain, head over to my sale group.”

If you’re looking to bag a bargain, you’ll be able to use the service until February 23.

Consultants will be able to sell any excess stock back to The Body Shop.

The axing of the service came just weeks before the UK arm of The Body Shop collapsed into administration.

The retailer’s owners Aurelius have appointed administrators at FRP Advisory throwing doubt over the future of the iconic high street brand.

The ailing retailer has 199 locations and employs 2,000 workers in the UK.

The Body Shop will continue to trade, with shops and the online site remaining open and making sales.

The Body Shop was bought by private equity firm Aurelius from former owner Natura and Co in November in a deal worth £207million.

The cosmetics group said it was looking to shift its focus away from the UK market and towards South America.

The Body Shop was founded by Anita Roddick and her husband Gordon in Brighton in 1976.

It aimed to set itself apart from other beauty retailers by focusing on ethically sourced and naturally-based ingredients.

The brand joined the L’Oreal group in 2006, before being bought by Natura and Co in 2017.

The Sun has taken a deep dive into what went wrong at the beloved chain.

Other ways to bag a bargain at The Body Shop

You might be able to find your favourite The Body Shop products for sale at other retailers for a fraction of the price.

TKMaxx frequently stocks beauty items made by the brand in its stores.

For example, a The Body Shop Overnight Glow Revealing Mask Vitamin C cream is just £6.99 at TKmaxx.

But the same product costs £24 on The Body Shop’s website.

You can also buy The Body Shop products from marketplaces like Amazon and Direct Cosmetics.

Remember it is always good to shop around to make sure you are getting the cheapest deal.

You can use shopping comparison tools such as Google Shopping and Trolley.co.uk to compare the cost of items across different retailers.
