A CALL of Duty tournament with a $250,000 (£190,000) prize pool kicks off this week – and almost anyone can register to play.
The contest hosted by US streaming giant Twitch is open to players of all skill levels and will see teams of three battle it out for the top prize.

Participants will fight to the death in Warzone, Call of Duty’s Fortnite-style battle royal game mode.
Called the Twitch Rivals Doritos Bowl ft. Call of Duty: Warzone, the tournament gets going at 2pm ET (7pm UK time) on December 3.
Those taking part will mostly be professional Twitch streamers, though a handful of amateur gamers will also get a shot at the prize money.
“Don’t miss YOUR chance to take on your fav creators for the lion’s share of $250K,” Twitch wrote of the contest on the Twitch Rivals Twitter account.
Fans can register to take part in the tournament here. You have until 2:59am ET (7:59am UK time) on Wednesday to register.
Doritos Bowl will be spread across three days of competitive 3v3 Trio Squads Warzone matches.
The top 24 teams during the first two days will progress to the finals, which take place on December 16. It will be streamed live on Twitch.
The winners will be those with the most points by the end of the final day.

Teams score points by winning matches and for the number of eliminations they register.
The top prize handed out to winners will be $45,000 (£33,000), while the rest of the $250,000 prize fund will be shared between other finalists.
Warzone has proved a huge hit since it launched in March and is currently available on console and PC.
Like many recent games, its popularity is in part thanks to lockdowns sparked by the coronavirus pandemic pushing people to their sofas.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War – what is it?
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is the latest game in the hugely popular war sim series.
It hits shelves in November and plays out at the height of nuclear tensions between the US and Soviet Russia.
The storyline follows the real-world events of the Cold War – such as the Vietnam War – but will dramatise some elements.
An early teaser trailer revealed has that the game will include a hunt for Perseus – a spy working against the US for Russia.
The Cold War was a period of major tension between the USA and Soviet Union, but wasn’t an outright war in the conventional sense.
Instead, both nations supported “proxy wars” – regional conflicts used to gain global influence.
And the fact that both nations controlled nuclear weaponry meant that neither side was willing to risk a war proper.
The period is generally said to have run from 1947 through to 1991 – when the Soviet Union was dissolved.
Out November 13, Black Ops Cold War starts at £59.99 for a standard copy rising all the way to £89.99 for the Ultimate Edition.
