STUCK at home this New Year’s Eve? Don’t despair, it doesn’t have to be dreary.
Here are my budget-friendly tips for a memorable night even if you are locked down in the living room.
FINGER FOOD: Most of the supermarkets have great deals on party food right now. Tesco Clubcard holders can get three-for-two on selected chilled party food, including Tesco Finest 10 Tempura King Prawns, 10 Mini Duck Spring Rolls with Hoisin Dip and Finest Halloumi Fries. SAVE: £3 (on this selection)
TABLE FOR TWO: If it’s just the two of you, why not treat yourself to a delicious meal from Marks & Spencer? Its dine-in-for-£20 deal includes a main, side, starter or dessert, plus a bottle of fizz, wine or box of chocolates. SAVE: £10.50 (compared with buying most expensive items separately)
PUNCH DRUNK: Asda has a two-for-£20 deal on spirits, including 70cl bottles of Captain Morgan Sliced Apple rum-based drink (normally £13). Mix one part rum to four parts lemonade or try with different juices. Captain Morgan Tiki Mango & Pineapple, Gordon’s White Peach and Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon gins are also in the deal.
