How to hide your WhatsApp online status on an iPhone?

To begin with, make sure you’re using the latest version of WhatsApp.

This can be done by updating the app via the Apple App Store on iPhone.

Then follows these instructions:

  1. Open WhatsApp on you iPhone and into Settings.
  2. Then move into Privacy > Last Seen and online which under Account.
  3. You’ll find the new options under the bottom section, titled: Who can see when I’m online.

Your options will be to set it as Everyone or as Same As Last Seen.

That second option borrows settings from your Last Seen choices above on the same page.

How to hide your WhatsApp online status on an Android?

The steps to disable the last seen status on Android are pretty much the same as iPhone and the same rules apply.

Lets take a look:

  1. Open WhatsApp and tap on the ellipses (three dot) icon at the top right corner. Then, select the Settings option.
  2. Next, navigate to Account > Privacy to access the last seen status setting.
  3. Now, tap on the Last seen and online privacy setting. 
  4. And finally click on the ‘who can see when I’m online’ option. You just need to select ‘Same as last seen’ here.
