The mobile app’s new built-in karaoke mode lets you join in with your favourite artists and even scores your vocal prowess.

How to get Spotify Karaoke Mode

According to reports and screengrabs on social media, the game is packed into a software update that began rolling out this week.

Spotify has yet to acknowledge that it is releasing Karaoke Mode. The Sun has reached out to the company for comment.

However, rumours that the streaming titan is working on a tool to help users test their vocal skills go back as far as 2019.

It appears the new mode is finally rolling out after years of development.

To get the new mode, you’ll need to update the app by heading to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

If there’s no update available, fear not! It’ll likely reach your device within the next few days.

How to try Spotify Karaoke mode

Once you’ve downloaded the update, open the Spotify app and select the song you wish to sing along to.

Scroll down to view track lyrics that scroll in real-time as the song is playing.

Next, tap the option that says “sing” near the top of the lyric sheet.

This will launch Karaoke Mode. Sing along to the track and Spotify will tell you which notes you hit and miss.

It will even give you a percentage score at the end of the song to let you know how accurate your cover was.

It’s a fun feature that’s sure to be a hit at parties.

Users on social media agree, with one Twitter fan writing: “Spotify’s karaoke HAS to be the best thing in a while.”
