MCDONALD’S fans can score a menu favourite for just under a pound tomorrow.

A classic quarter pounder with cheese from the fast-food giant will usually set back foodies £3.49, but on Monday they can save as much as 74% as it’s reduced.

Prices can vary from store to store so you might find that the burger is a little more expensive than that at the McDonald’s branch closest to you – or it could be cheaper too.

But for one day only, regardless of where you are in the country, the burger will cost only 99p – around £2.50 cheaper than normal.

The budget burger chain hosts a weekly offer every Monday – and this deal is part of that.

It’s aptly named McDonald’s Mondays and usually sees big ticket items on the UK menu reduced by almost two thirds.

In the past it’s offered McMuffins and triple cheeseburgers for just 1p short of a pound, and something new is offered every week.

This week’s offer centers around the quarter pounder burger – a firm favourite found at Maccies, made of 100% beef, with two slices of cheese, onions, pickles, mustard and a dollop of tomato ketchup in a sesame seed bun.

Getting it for 99p starts just after midnight tonight, though you won’t be able to order the burger until 11am as that’s when the breakfast menu ends at McDonald’s.

Once the regular menu does come into play though, you’ll have until 11.59pm on February 7 to order the burger at just a fraction of its regular price.

The catch is you can only use the deal one time, and it has to be an order placed through the app too.

So unfortunately you can’t get endless 99p burgers throughout the afternoon, and you can’t just rock up to McDonald’s in the hopes that it’s discounted.

To claim you’ll need the free My McDonald’s app downloaded to your phone or any other supporting device.

You’ll be able to order on the app, apply the discount via the deals page (it’ll pop up automatically), and pick up via Drive-thru, click and serve, takeaway or in restaurant.

On top of the reduction, fans can get 20% off anything on the menu if they’re new to the app.

It’s an offer that comes with the first time you download My McDonald’s, so loyal fans might be disappointed that they don’t qualify for this one, and the cheap burger will have to do for the meantime.

To claim you have to have registered by April 17 and the discount works similar to Monday’s offer where you’ll have to order on mobile first, before heading to a branch to collect.

It means Maccies lovers can get a fifth off their order though, which could provide the perfect opportunity to try the new Chicken Big Mac or McPlant burger at a fraction of the cost – at least that way if you don’t like it you didn’t pay full price!
