BRITS planning a visit to the hairdresser or nail salon can get £10 off a £30 spend by booking through Treatwell.

The discount comes as hairdressers, barbers and beauty salons reopened yesterday for the first time in months.

Hairdressers and barbers were forced to shut during the first lockdown in March 2020 and were among the last to reopen in July 2020.

There was then a second four-week shutdown in November that lasted until December 2, while the third national lockdown began in January.

If you’re desperate for a trim or you’re keen to book a beauty appointment, you can get a tenner off as long you’re a new customer of Treatwell.

The booking site helps more than 10,000 salons handle appointments.

Rules in place at hairdressers after lockdown

IF you’re planning a visit to your local hairdresser as it reopens, there are a number of rules you’ll need to follow.

The British Beauty Council recommends that staff wear gloves, masks and gowns, while customers will also have to wear masks.

It is also recommended that staff use Type II face masks, made up of 3 ply construction, to minimise the risk of transmission.

Customers will have to provide details for the NHS Track and Trace and establishments must practice frequent cleaning and good hand hygiene.

Other guidelines include only “short and basic” services being offered to reduce the amount of time customers are in the chairs.

Following the first national lockdown, many salons introduced perspex screens above the basins and between working stations, which are set to stay this time around.

Some salons may also check the temperature of customers coming in.

Simply search for the treatment you’d like and enter the postcode and the date you want to go.

Then select your option, go to the checkout stage to create an account and add the promo code “TENOFF” before you pay.

The treatment must cost at least £30 for the discount code, which was first spotted by deal-sharing website hotukdeals, to apply.

The offer was launched last week and is valid until the end of April, although Treatwell hasn’t yet confirmed an exact date.

It’s valid on any treatment booked through the site, meaning you can use it for a haircut, hair removal, nail appointments and more.

The price of haircuts and beauty treatments vary wildly depending on what you’re getting done, but dyeing your hair can cost more than £100.

If you’re not planning to spend more than £20, there’s no point to get the deal.

In other deals news as hairdressers and the hospitality industry welcome back customers, Costa Coffee is selling hot drinks for just 50p.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s is offering free hot drinks today.

And other big chains including Beefeater and Zizzi are also offering discounts as they reopen after lockdown.
