Apple launched the first AirPods back in 2016.

The wireless earbuds quickly became a smash-hit, with Apple now selling an entire range of different AirPods models.

They’re best known for pairing with the iPhone.

But you can also connect your AirPods to an Apple MacBook.

It’s a great way to shut off from the world and get some work done, watch a movie, or do a video call.

And you can switch back to your iPhone with ease too.

How to use AirPods with Mac

First, make sure you’ve updated your Mac to the latest version of macOS.

Some AirPods models require specific versions of macOS, so check your settings to update.

If you’ve already paired your AirPods with an iPhone, you’re in luck.

Your AirPods will already be ready to to use with your Mac if the iPhone and Mac are logged in with the same Apple ID.

Put your AirPods in and then click the Bluetooth symbol on the menu bar at the top of your Mac screen.

Then simply choose AirPods.

If AirPods don’t appear, go to the Apple menu and enter System Preferences.

Then click Bluetooth, make sure it’s on, place the AirPods in the case and open the lid.

Press and hold the setup button on the back of the AirPods case until the light flashes white.

Then choose AirPods in the list on your Mac and click Connect.

If you’re still hearing sound from Mac speakers, go into Bluetooth or volume controls and choose AirPods as the output device.
