Creating an account with Meta is fairly easy and straightforward.

The essential things needed are an email address and the Oculus app on your mobile device, which is available both on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

You will also need to fill in your name and age, as the platform will offer you recommendations based on your age.

In order to create an account, you will need to be at least 13 years old or older.

After you are done filling in your details, you will then have to create a Meta Horizon Profile.

This is where you could customize your username and display name, as well as put a profile picture if you like.

You could edit your account privacy and choose whatever suits your best.

You could choose from being Open to Everyone, Friends and Family, and Solo.

Then, you will be asked to confirm your decision.

Users who are 13-17 years old will have their accounts set to private automatically.

How to link Oculus Quest to Meta account

If you already have an Oculus Quest account created before having the option to choose a Meta account, the process will be a bit different.

You will still need to create a profile with Meta and Meta Horizon, but after that, you will need to visit Meta’s Web setup website on your desktop or mobile.

This is where you will need to log in with your existing Facebook or Instagram account.

Doing so will ensure that all of your progress and purchases are still there.

You will have to option to keep your Facebook account as a Meta profile or remove it and use email instead.

Even if you choose to remove your Facebook account, things such as progress and purchased content will still remain in your account.

An essential is to make sure that both your VR set and Mobile Oculus app are up to date on their software updates.
