EBAY has become the go-to site for people wanting to earn extra cash by selling their unwanted goods online.

But how does bidding on the online auction site work, and how do you cancel a bid? Here’s all you need to know.

1) How do you cancel a bid on eBay?

As a seller, you can cancel bids placed on your items by other eBay users.

To do that, you can head to a special web page set up by eBay for the cancellation of bids placed on your listing.

Enter the item number, the username of the member whose bid you’re cancelling, and the reason you’re cancelling the bid. Select “cancel bid”.

Remember, once cancelled, a bid can’t be reinstated.

There are only a handful of scenarios that eBay considers acceptable for the cancellation of a bid.

  • A buyer requests you cancel their bid and you agree
  • You have to end the listing early because the item is no longer available for sale
  • You made an error in the listing
  • You’re concerned the bid may be from a fraudulent buyer

2) How do you remove a bid on eBay as a buyer?

As a buyer, you can retract a bid that you’ve placed on an item.

To do so, follow this link to a special page on the eBay website.

Keep in mind that you can’t always retract a bid once it’s made.

If you’re not able to retract your bid, you can also try contacting the seller to see if they’ll cancel your bid for you.

3) How does eBay bidding work?

An eBay auction works a lot like a “real” auction, with shoppers bidding on items they want to buy – typically over the course of a week.

If you see something you want on eBay, the first thing you should do is check the seller’s feedback to make sure you can trust them.

After that you can make a bid for the item and then you must wait until the auction is over to see if you have been successful.

If someone outbids you, you can make another offer at a higher price.

If you have the winning bid, you then have to pay the seller using a credit or debit card.

Once they have received payment, the seller will then send out your purchase to you.
