HOME Bargains will close all stores to give employees an extra day off on Boxing Day.
The retailer said it will shut on December 26, which is traditionally one of the busiest shopping days of the year, as well as New Year’s Day.

All of the discount store’s 500 branches will be closed to “thank all of its staff for their hard work over the past year”.
The move comes after Marks & Spencer and Morrisons both confirmed they will close on Boxing Day to give staff a break.
Aldi and The Entertainer will also keep their doors shut on December 26.
Most supermarkets and shops usually open on Boxing Day to allow shoppers to stock up on supplies over the festive period.
High street shops also typically open on Boxing Day so bargain hunters can make the most of the post-Christmas sales.
Home Bargains will also close at the earlier time of 5pm on Christmas Eve to allow its 22,000 employees to have a longer festive break.
The store usually closes between 8pm and 10pm, depending on the location. You can find your nearest Home Bargains online.
It offers online shopping, with home delivery starting at £3.59 – but check the website closer to Christmas to make sure you don’t miss the deadline to receive your items before the big day.
A spokesperson for Home Bargains said: “We recognise how incredibly hard all of our colleagues have worked over the last year, to continue to serve the local communities that rely on them so much.
“In light of this, we felt it was only right to reward store teams by taking the decision to close all of our stores on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and also close stores early at 5pm on Christmas Eve, so that they can make the most of the festive break and enjoy as much time family, friends and loved ones.”
The company said the move is a “way of saying thank you to all our colleagues for their continued hard work and dedication”.
