PLAYERS of the new Cyberpunk 2077 video game have been left in stitches after a bizarre glitch revealed the genitals of their characters.
Screenshots posted to social media over the weekend show the realistic penises and breasts of in-game avatars poking through their clothes.
Launched last week by Polish outfit CD Projekt, Cyberpunk 2077 is believed to be one of the most expensive video games of all time.
But despite its lengthy development and sky-high budget, engineers are scrambling to iron out a handful of early issues stumbled upon by players.
One that has delighted gamers involves the naughty bits of the game’s main character, V.
Players have the option to customise V in countless ways, including whether they have a penis or vagina, and even the size and shape of their rude bits.
Some gamers have found that their characters’ modified junk continues to show outside of their clothes long after they exit the customisation screen.
One gamer wrote on Reddit: “Got a glitch in Cyberpunk 2077 that no matter what trousers I wear my dudes d**k is hanging out.”
Another commenter wrote: “Literally could not have asked for a better first bug.”
It’s not clear whether the flashes are an intentional part of the game.
However, based on the litany of bugs reported since launch, they’re likely the result of a glitch.
The problem appears to largely affect players on PlayStation 4 on Xbox One, where gamers have reported a number of major graphical hiccups.
The Sun has reached out to CD Projekt for comment.
Cyberpunk 2077 features the voice and likeness of Matrix star Keanu Reeves and is tipped to be one of the biggest games of the year.
It was played by more than a million people in the four hours following its long-awaited release on December 10.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a role-playing action game set in a dystopian Sci-Fi world where humans are part machine.
You play as V, who you can customise throughout the game with new cyborg implants and augmentations.
Keanu Reeves, 56, plays Johnny Silverhand, a “legendary rockerboy” who is a key character in the game.
The RPG is out on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia, as well as the new consoles from Microsoft and Sony: The PS5 and Xbox Series X.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – when did they launch and how much do they cost?
Microsoft launched the Xbox Series X and its smaller, cheaper sibling, the Series S, on November 10.
The release date covered the UK, US, Australia and a bunch of other countries worldwide.
The disc-free Series S costs £249/$299, while the Xbox Series X comes in at £449/$499.
So how does that compare to the new Xbox’s biggest rival, the PlayStation 5?
The PS5 launch fell on November 12, but not everywhere.
That date only stood for the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.
UK gamers had to wait until November 19 to order one of the consoles.
The PS5 proper costs £449.99/$499.99, while the digital edition comes in at £359/$399.
