YOUR iPhone is always learning new tricks – and a recent update added loads.

Always remember to update your handset to get the latest features as soon as they’re out.

First, make sure you’re using the latest version of iOS.

That means your iPhone needs to be on iOS 15.3.

To check, go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any pending updates.

Move the Safari address bar

The search and URL bar that usually lives at the top of Safari has moved to the bottom.

This has irked some fans, but thankfully it’s possible to move it back to the top.

Simply open Safari, tap the aA symbol, and then choose Show Top Address Bar.

But the reality is that you should just get used to the new design.

Apple has moved the bar to the bottom so it’s easier to reach.

Having to stretch your fingers to the top of the screen might feel natural now, but you’ll soon get used to the new way.

Importantly, iPhone screens have grown over the years – and having the bar at the top is simply a relic of the past.

When iPhones were small – 4 inches or less – it didn’t matter that the bar was at the top.

But some iPhone models now have gigantic 6.7-inch displays, so ease of use becomes an issue.

Drag and drop photos

Normally if you wanted to move an iPhone photo, you’d probably go into the Share options.

From there, you’d look to share the iPhone photo to another app or copy it.

But there’s a different way that is really quick and very satisfying.

Simply go into your Photos app and hold your finger down on a photo.

Then without release, navigate to a Messages chat and drop the image on the char bar.

The photo you chose will then appear in Messages.

You can even select and hold multiple photos at once.

And lots of apps support this feature, so you can share to multiple places.

It doesn’t just work from the Photos app either.

Late last year, we revealed how you can also share iPhone photos from other places – including Google Images in a web browser.

Scan ANY text

Your iPhone is loaded with a handy tool that allows you to quickly load the content of a menu or newspaper onto your mobile instantly.

Live Text allows you to point your iPhone camera at a real world object and quickly copy and paste text on it onto your handset.

It could help you capture notes on a whiteboard at the end of a meeting or school class, or copy down a handwritten note of a family recipe.

Grab an object with text you want to scan and open the Camera app on your iPhone.

Point the camera at the object and then tap the indicator that appears in the lower right of your display. It looks like lines of text surrounded by a box.

When you tap it, the text jumps out on your display and you’re given the option, to copy, select, looks up, translate or share it.

You can copy and paste it into an email or Note, for instance, or share it with a friend over WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.

You can also use Live Text on photos already in your photo library.

Simply open a photo in the gallery app and tap and hold on a piece of text in the picture to select and highlight it.
