HEINZ has had to apologise to its fans for discontinuing their “favourite” soup, the Cream of Tomato Soup With A Kick of Chilli.

A baffled Brit, who goes by Crispy, aired his grievances on X, formerly Twitter, this month after hearing through word of mouth that the soup had disappeared from supermarket shelves for good.

Crispy wrote on the social media platform: “Hey, @HeinzUK just heard you guys are discontinuing the Cream of Tomato soup with a hint of Chili.

“Guys, come on, it’s my favourite soup. I bet you have loads in a warehouse somewhere, if it’s all getting chucked can you at lease send me a crate? Be a mate.”

The beloved brand responded: “It’s sad when a favourite disappears, we will pass on your comments to our Team. Sorry we do not have any left.”

A dismayed Crispy asked that Heinz let him know if “whatever monster who made this decision comes to its senses and my soup makes a comeback”.

He added: “It’d do a lot to mend this rift that’s grown between us.”

The soup was immensely popular and widely considered a winter lunch staple.

Heinz’ confirmation of it being discontinued ended months of mystery as shoppers desperately searched for the product in stores.

One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup. Everything else is a dumpster fire imitation. I said it.”

It comes after Heinz discontinued family meal favourite, Veg Hoops, which parents claimed was “all our kids eat”.

One worried customer learned it had been pulled from shelves when they posed the question on X: “Have you discontinued the veg hoops? My son loves them and we’ve not been able to find any for a while, even in the shops that previously stocked them.”

The brand sadly confirmed their Veg Hoops had gone forever and said: “Hi Verity, sorry this variety has been discontinued”

Another Heinz favourite, the Firecracker Sauce, loved for its BBQ and chilli flavours, has also been discontinued.

Customers adored the product, using it to marinate their meat and elevate their burgers, and took to social media to express their devastation at losing such a “game changer”.

One Brit even hailed the sauce as the “King of Condiments”.
