HEINZ is to bring back curry versions of their baked beans after a successful trial run.

Vindaloo, Tikka and Jalfrezi were launched last year as limited editions to mark October’s National Curry Week.

They are now going on general sale as part of its Beanz Liberation range.

It includes Heinz Beanz Filled Hash Browns and Heinz Beanz Pizza.

Heinz sells 2.5 million cans of its traditional Baked Beanz every day,

A spokesman said four in ten Brits had been eating more beans over the past two years.

As a result, people were looking for more flavour and new varieties to spice up meals.

Colin Wallace, 34, of Amersham, said he will try them but thinks curry and beans are a “dangerous combo”.

He said: “I do worry for the environment.

“You hear about cow flatulence raising the Earth’s temperature… this could be the final straw.”
