HARVESTER’S self-service salad bar will be returning TODAY following anger from Sun readers.
The chain was forced to make a U-turn after The Sun revealed the all-you-can-eat buffet was being scrapped.
Under the plans, diners were banned from loading up the bowls themselves and instead had to wait to be served by a member of staff.
Shared salad tongues were initially removed from the salad bar due to the Covid-19 pandemic – but The Sun revealed the new rules were here to stay.
Many regulars said they would no longer bother visiting the chain as the salad spread was their favourite part of the meal.

But a spokesman for Mitchells & Butlers, which runs the restaurant , confirmed that unlimited salad bar would be returning today.
David Hoyland, operations director at Harvester, said: “The salad bar is what we’re famous for and all of us at Harvester know how much our guests have missed being able to serve themselves, so it gives us great joy to bring back this summer.”
Harvester’s salad bar will remain free and unlimited to all guests who buy a main meal at the restaurant.
It is prepped daily and includes fan favourites such as potato salad, beetroot, coleslaw, pineapple, peppers, sweetcorn, tomatoes, cucumber and pasta salad.
