GREGGS is launching two new vegan products after its plant-based sausage rolls proved a sales hit.
Vegan versions of a ham and cheese baguette and a breakfast sausage bap are in the pipeline, say insiders at the high street bakery chain.
Vegan Food UK said it was told the baguette would launch “in the next week or two”.
One post to its 187,000 Instagram followers said: “Our insiders tell us the new baguette is launching in the next week or two
“Yes, it would appear that Greggs is indeed launching a vegan Ham and Cheeze Baguette.
It dropped a second bombshell hours later, adding: “Vegan Sausage Breakfast Rolls coming soon to Greggs.
“Very Soon we will be able to get a vegan sausage sandwich/bun/bap/barm/roll (for all the regions who call it something different) from Greggs.”
Greggs were called “PC-ravaged clowns” by TV host Piers Morgan when launching vegan sausage rolls in 2019 but sales leapt 9.2 per cent.
The company has been approached for comment.
