GREGGS is launching a restaurant at the world’s biggest Primark and a clothing range that will be available at 60 stores.
The high street tie-up will see Tasty By Greggs open its doors at the shop’s Birmingham branch.
Shoppers will be able to sit down and snack on Greggs’ popular sausage rolls and steak bakes when they need a break from browsing the rails.
The 130-seat cafe will be located in Primark’s 161,000 sq ft store – which is located on Birmingham’s high street over five floors.
It will become the bakery chain’s biggest branch and will serve up all its popular menu items, opening its doors to hungry shoppers from February 12.
Greggs and Primark are also launching a clothing range as part of the the unusual tie up between the two high street favourites.
Clothes branded with the Greggs logo will be among the items launching in 60 Primark stores from February 19.
There will be 11 pieces in the range, but the bakery chain and retailer have not yet revealed what will feature in the range or prices.
But in pictures teasing the launch Shoppers have spotted a white hoodie showing the Greggs blue and orange logo on the chest.
On the sleeve of the jumper is written “It’s a pastry thing”.
In a video on social media we also spotted a black hoodie with just the orange squares of the Greggs logo across the front
A Greggs fans called it a “collab no one asked for – but needed” on social media and others have speculated what could be in the range.
One shopper said “if there ain’t Greggs pyjamas I’m gonna be disappointed” and a second chipped in Imagine a sausage roll tracksuit”.
Another thought it might be an early April Fools joke.
Raymond Reynolds, business development director at Greggs said that customers have always asked for merch and that “fans can quite literally show their love for Greggs on their sleeves” now.
He said: “We’ve got some great pieces that we can’t wait to share.
“Our ‘Tasty by Greggs’ cafe will be the first of its kind, and will offer an exciting Greggs experience, underpinned by the great products and service that’s already delivered across all of our shops.”
Pictures of the cafe show donut shaped booths for putting your feet up.
Some Greggs locations have seating areas where you can tuck in to lunch already, but many serve food for takeaway only.
