In a fiercely competitive streaming market, Sky have bumped up the asking price of its TV box, but is now drawing in new customers with 30 days of free usage.

The Stream used to be considerably cheaper – just last week we reported that it fallen to a starting cost of just £24 per month.

Now it costs £29 per month – but you get a whole month of free use before you pay a single penny (and when you do pay, it’s still less than £1 a day).

That’s not bad for the entire content catalogues of Netflix, Sky Entertainment and Discovery+

We’re unsure whether this is a temporary promotion or something Sky will commit to in the long-term, but one thing’s for sure – if you’ve had the Stream box on your radar for a while, now’s the time to try it out.

Sky is clearly proud of the Stream – in fact, they use quote our Senior Tech Reporter Jamie Harris, who reviewed the device: ‘It’s surprising that a tiny box packs so much punch.’

The Sky Stream was released in the autumn of 2022, and is one of two major new products from from the telecom giant in recent times.

Back in 2021, the brand launched the Sky Glass, a 4K television that offers the same range of content and features as the Stream – with no upfront cost for the telly itself.

Neither the stream or Glass requires satellite installation, and if you’re already subscribed to Netflix, Sky will sort out transferring your account over to the new combo.
