I waited more than 63 years to see something like Gentleman Jack on TV, having spent most of my lifetime watching shows and movies that rarely had anyone like me in them. In Gentleman Jack, we see both Anne and Ann dealing with many of the same issues, emotions and obstacles that lesbians in our times are still dealing with. There were so many times Anne Lister would make a comment that was an arrow to my heart, because I knew what she was feeling even if I live 200 years later.
