MP presided over exams debacle after being sacked as defence secretary for alleged leak

Boris Johnson has awarded a knighthood to Gavin Williamson, who was sacked as defence secretary for allegedly leaking secure information before presiding over a series of exams debacles as education secretary.

The announcement was made by No 10 in a brief statement, which also said that Susan Williams, a Home Office minister in the Lords, has been made a member of the Privy Council.
