AN old wooden garage has been put up for rent for £1,250 per month and it doesn’t even include the bills.

The room in Cookham Dean, near Maidenhead in Berkshire, doesn’t even have a proper bedroom or a door for sleepers.

Instead, the bed goes in a nook open to the main room and is reached by a ladder above the kitchen.

And with slanted ceilings, anyone in the alcove won’t be able to stand up straight.

The garage does come with its own kitchenette in the central room, and a shower and toilet in an adjoining room.

But, there’s no fridge despite the listing saying the room can come furnished.

But, bills will probably cost its letter another £250, taking the total for the garage to £1,500 a month.

The unusual pad has garage doors still at the front and a side entrance and only a few small windows to let in daylight.

Cookham Dean is popular with celebs with TV stars Ulrika Johnson and Chris Barrie having lived there.

According to the listing, the property can have a maximum of one tenant but no pets.

But it comes with two car parking slots.

The building is made of brick, is fully insulated and has electric heating.

The listing reads: “Quirky, recently renovated studio, with lovely high ceilings, available for rent.

“Ideally suited for a single occupant, with two off-street parking spaces available and use of the garden.”

But some prospective renters were left horrified by not.

One person, called Ernest said: “The amount of rent is the main problem.”

”Dystopian,” said another rent.

Another person, called Rachel said: “It’s enough to trigger off a mental breakdown.”

The £1,250 Cookham price is nearly half of what one north London flat without a bedroom was priced at.

While the studio appears to be freshly-painted, with a flat-screen TV and a luxury shower – features all renters on a budget in London will know don’t necessary come as standard – there’s no bed to be seen.

But, one one-bedroom space in north west London is a lot cheaper at £450.

The space features just a bed and a kitchen – and the room is so tiny that the occupant will be able to cook their dinner while tucked up under the duvet.
