Post-Christmas sales can be a great time to bag some end-of-year bargains and most shops take part.

And if you’re just looking to take advantage of some major savings, there are lots to choose from.

But remember to write a list in advance, and always compare prices ahead of the sale to ensure you get your coveted items for the very best price.

And just because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t always mean it’s a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

We’ve rounded up some of the major supermarkets and shops that have slashed the prices of chocolate treats this week.

Asda

Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one happy shopper said: “Asda is selling Matchmakers, After Eights and Reece’s boxes for 25p each.

“I also got a bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk for a quid and a box of Cadburys for £3.”

But that’s not all, Asda has also slashed the price of its tubs of Quality Street by half.

Shoppers can now bag a tub of Quality Street for just £2 – down from £4.

People have spotted a store in Doncaster is selling giant 871g Quality Street tins for just £3.

Other big reductions include a Cadbury’s Christmas selection box down from just under £4 to £1.75.

Tesco

Tesco shoppers have also been sharing their bargain finds.

A 600g box of Lindt Lindor milk chocolate is being sold in stores (not online, unfortunately) for just 31p – reduced from a whopping £15.

The box weighs in at 600g, not to be confused with the regular 200g size box.

The chocolate bars are available online and in store while stocks last.

This is half the price of other stores like Tesco which sell the same size for £11.

It is also selling a Terrys Chocolate Orange Segsations pouch for just £1.25.

Home Bargains

Home Bargains is known for its bargains all year round but after Christmas it also does slash some prices down.

It has cut the prices of its multipacks of various chocolate bars and bags by as much as £10.

Home Bargains is selling a case of six Cadbury Heroes 290g cartons for just £17.94 or £2.99 each.

This is down from its usual price of £27.54.

The price of six cases of Cadbury’s Eclairs cartons (420g each) is also down from £15 to £11.94.

B&M

Like Home Bargains, B&M has low prices all year round, not just for Christmas.

Most of its bargains are only available in store so make sure to keep an eye out when you’re having a browse.

We found the discounter is selling Kit Kat chocolate Santas for just 50p at the moment.

Meanwhile, B&M is also currently selling 650g tubs of Quality Street for £4 – or 62p per 100g.
