SUPERMARKETS and café chains have recalled chicken products and axed items from their menus over food poisoning fears.
Meat producer Cranswick, which supplies retailers including Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Costa Coffee, found salmonella in some of its products.

More than 70 different items have been pulled from shelves and chains including Leon and Pret a Manger have taken all chicken items off their menu.
Waitrose and M&S are also among the grocers that have withdrawn some ready-to-eat chicken products from sale.
The recall affects cooked chicken including in sandwiches and wraps.
Cranswick has closed its site in Hull while it investigates the issue, which was detected during a routine inspection.
It has told all of its customers to remove any product containing Cranswick ready to eat chicken “as a precautionary measure”.
Morrisons and Asda confirmed to The Sun that they are not affected by the recalls.

Supermarkets will hand out full refunds to customers who have bought recalled items.
You can return it to the store to get your money back.
Most supermarkets will allow you to return it to any branch, not just the one you bought it from.
You won’t need a receipt to get your compensation.
