FATHER’S Day is right around the corner, and B&M has a lot of potential gift options for the day.

But often the discount store has so much stock, it’s difficult to know what’s worth buying and what isn’t. To help, we’ve done a round-up.

Here is a list of things to buy and avoid if you're visiting B&M for Father's Day

This year Father’s Day lands on Sunday, June 18.

Many people will be hunting around for gift options now – but you won’t want to spend a fortune.

We’ve found some handy present ideas for the day and organised them into things you should and should not buy if you’re shopping at B&M.

To find your nearest store just use the locator tool on its website – but delivery is free if you choose to order stock online.

But remember it’s always worth having a shop around, as other retailers might have even cheaper deals on offer.

And remember the 10p bargains that pop up time and again on the handy scanner app can all add up and you could go over budget.

Always make sure you’re buying it because you need it and not because of discounts.

But, without further ado, here are four things you should buy at B&M for Father’s Day and two you should avoid.

What to buy

Earbuds

Technology is often very cheap at B&M and a good shout if you want to buy something of good quality.

Especially if you don’t want to spend too much doing so.

We spotted a pair of Mixx StreamBuds Dots Lite Buds Wireless Earbuds for £20 from B&M – although they’re nearly out of stock.

The same pair cost £35 from Currys, so you’re far better off visiting the cheap shop for these.

They come in either black or white and include up to seven hours of wireless play.

They charge in their case, which itself comes with an adaptor.

Outdoor firepit

This could be a fabulous gift for a hot summer’s day – perfect for a BBQ.

But look no further than B&M if you’re after something like this – we found a 60cm Boston Firepit for £40.

It’s not too large so it can be moved or stored away easily, but you’ll just need to purchase logs or charcoal to go with it.

It’s also made from steel and comes with a mesh lid for protection.

Retailers elsewhere, like Dunelm, charge £135 for the same size of firepit.

Their Cook King Polo fire bowl is £96 more expensive and doesn’t come with a lid.

Chocolate

A simple and tasty choice.

Of course, there are plenty of supermarkets within reach where you can pick up a choccy treat should you wish, but B&M has a more unique range for smaller prices.

For example, the discount store still offers 382g pouches of Quality Street – which we couldn’t find online elsewhere.

They each cost £3.99.

But you can also pick up large Dairy Milk bars from £1.89 or choose from Ferrero Rocher, Raffaello or After Eight.

Deodorant/aftershave

If you’re looking for big brands for less, you’ve come to the right place.

One of the first things we spotted in this section on the B&M website was a 75ml bottle of Joop Mens Deodorant Spray for just £9.99.

The same product will set you back £22 from the Perfume Shop.

But for other dupes and own brand steals, it’s worth having a look in your nearest Superdrug.

What not to buy

Small grills

If you’re looking for small, portable grills for your dad to enjoy in the sun this Father’s Day, you’ll have better luck looking in Argos.

There’s a Home Portable Charcoal BBQ on sale on its website for £20.

The cheapest equivalent we found at B&M – the Oval Kettle BBQ – costs £35 and is perhaps too big to comfortably move around.

Don’t forget about Argos delivery costs if you’re ordering home though.

Novelty gifts

You can’t go wrong with a good Father’s Day mug, pillow, cup or pair of slippers.

But if that’s your aim, you might find a much bigger selection and cheaper prices at somewhere like the Card Factory.

When we looked, we found items for as little as £1.19, compared to prices starting from £5.99 at B&M.

You can find your nearest Card Factory using the store locator tool online, and you could even get your card and gift all in one go.

We loved the Dad All Round Legend Mug which only costs £2.79 from the Card Factory.

But don’t forget to compare prices and gifts elsewhere to make sure you’re not missing anything.
