NEW Look is filled with lots of clothes and accessories for fashion fans.

But what are the best items to pick out, and which ones should you avoid? We take a look to see.

Here's what to buy and avoid at New Look

You might have your eye on a few things from New Look, but it doesn’t mean they’re all worth buying.

Before you have a proper look, at least make sure you’ve considered extra delivery costs if you’re looking online.

Standard delivery costs £2.99, but you can collect from your local branch at no added cost.

To find your closest New Look, just use the locator tool on its website.

And remember, don’t buy things just for the sake of it.

No matter whether it’s a good deal or not, only make the purchase if you know you’ve been needing it.

Remember to always shop around as well before you commit to a purchase – you never know what other deals you might’ve missed.

You can use sites like PriceRunner or Google Shopping for other items you’d like to research.

Otherwise, let’s look at the items you should buy and avoid.

What to buy

Jewellery

There’s always a generous selection of jewellery on sale both on the New Look website and in stores.

That includes silver and gold bracelets, bangles, earrings, necklaces and rings.

And they won’t break your bank account either.

We’ve spotted earrings for as little as £5.99, and they even come in sets so you get more than one pair for the price.

When we checked River Island, however, its earrings cost between £10-£12.

So pretty much double the price.

Therefore, we reckon it’s worth popping into New Look if you’re after something easy and reliable.

Summer/festival clothes

Festival season is upon us as summer makes its mark – and New Look always has plenty of chic and boho clothes to choose from.

In fact, you can browse an entire section right now.

New Look Daily takes inspiration from the latest trends and the clothes celebrities are wearing, but all for a reasonable price.

We’ve seen in-style dress from £19.99 on the website, and there’s even a 25% off select summer picks online.

You best be quick if you want a good deal, but it’s always a shout to browse at New Look if you want to look cute in the sun.

Men’s basic clothing

If you’re after some simple tops, trousers, jeans and shoes, the men’s section of New Look sells items for as little as £5.99.

When we checked, a few items such as the Black Ribbed Jersey Muscle Fit Vest were selling out fast.

The website said 21 had been sold in the past few hours when we had a look.

So be quick – there may be limited stock if you wait too long.

Kids basic clothing

The same goes for kids – you can get little tops, jackets, skirts and trousers from £5.99 at New Look.

This is perfect if you’re looking to stock up over summer.

For example, we spotted a Girls Light Green Ribbed Crew Neck Racer Vest for £5.99 on the website.

If you pop to Asda, in comparison, you’d need to fork out £8 for a kids polo top.

What not to buy

Accessories and bags

Although there’s a generous range available at New Look, there are tons of designer bags for cheap at places like TK Maxx.

Accessories are also often sold in the clearance section – rock-bottom prices of up to 96% reductions.

Items get moved here if they haven’t been snapped up after four to six weeks, and quickly get purchased by bargain hunters.

Right now there’s a US Polo ASSN cross body bag on the TK Maxx website for £30.

That’s £88 cheaper than the normal price.

Designer clothes

New Look doesn’t have a massive collection of designer labels – when we checked the mens section, for example, only six were listed.

But at TK Maxx – again as another example – there’s a lot of heavily reduced designer clothes and other items in what’s called the Gold Label section.

This includes brands like Chloe, Emporio Armani, Stella McCartney and Joseph.

In this section, you might spot a few red and yellow-labelled items.

While red clearance stickers indicate a big saving, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for yellow stickers.

These indicate even bigger reductions that can go down to as little as 20p.

As always, do search around other retailers for anything you might need, and never buy something just for the sake of it.
