But with such a big range to choose from, it’s difficult to know what to buy and what to avoid. We take a look below.

What to buy

Makeup by Revolution

One particular brand Superdrug is famous for selling is Revolution, and often you’ll find it’s dirt cheap.

For example, a Superdrug employee said highlighters, eyeshadow palettes and lip kits can all sell for as little as 10p when a sale is on.

You’ll know it’s a bargain when there’s a yellow reduction sticker taped over products.

Usually items from this brand are still quite cheap – Revolution concealer, for example, can cost as little as £4.99.

Maybelline concealer would set you back £8.99 in comparison.

It’s worth noting you can also buy Revolution from Boots, but it may be more expensive depending on whether there are deals on.

Perfume dupes

Superdrug is another great store to visit in you’re looking for nice perfume on a budget.

Most recently, shoppers flocked to stores to grab 100ml of Layering Lab Paradise for £5.32.

It cost £85 less than its branded sister, Paco Rabanne’s Olympéa.

And it’s not just women’s fragrances on offer but men’s too – the budget range offers dupes for One Million, Paco Rabanne Invictus and Chanel Bleu.

So if you’re looking to treat yourself, we suggest checking them out – they won’t cost you the Earth.

Gift boxes

Superdrug sells a variety of gift sets for men, women and kids for a reasonable price.

At the moment there’s a three for two deal on which could be perfect for Mother’s Day.

Some examples include the Naturally Radiant Get The Glow Collection, the Vitamin C Detox Skincare Collection and the Me+ Hydrating Routine Gift Box all for £9.99 each.

Definitely worth having a browse online as well as in stores, and if you spot something on the website but plan to go in, we recommend calling up to make sure it’s in stock.

Piercings

Superdrug is now the high street’s biggest piercing specialist and one of the cheapest to go to, according to Retail Gazette.

And if you’re worried about the equipment they use, the store replied to a customer on Twitter saying they use a hand-pressured FDA-approved medical device, licensed by the local council.

So you should be in safe hands.

You can book a slot at your nearest store online where you can also browse the services on offer – the price will depend on the stud you choose and what you’re getting pierced.

It will probably vary per location too.

When we checked the website, it said a 9ct Gold 3mm Ball will cost £15 for a single piercing, or £26 for two.

What not to buy

Food

Although Superdrug does a range of healthy protein snacks and drinks, you’re best looking elsewhere if you want a proper meal deal.

They may not have the variety you’re looking for at lunch time, and it’ll depend on how big your store is.

Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda and all the major supermarkets will have a selection of lunch items you might benefit browsing from instead.

Superdrug only sells Co-op sandwiches, and it’ll cost you at least £3.79 for a meal deal.

Tesco, on the other hand, charges £3.40.

Exercise equipment

You might find some equipment at Superdrug for a cheaper price, but reviews on the website aren’t always glowing.

For example, some shoppers in the reviews of the £26.99 Aidapt Pedal Exerciser were not impressed.

One said: “It moves around as you’re cycling, especially if you go faster, and turning the gear to change the tension doesn’t make any difference? Disappointing.”

Another wrote: “Had to return the item as the middle bar with the pedals was wonky so couldnt use properly”.

However, it may work better for some than for others.

But to be sure, it’s best to visit specialist stores like Sports Direct, Decathlon and JD Sports to make sure you’re getting the best quality.
