FORTNITE 28.20 was supposed to launch today, but there’s still no word from developer Epic Games about downtime and the exact launch time.
Fans are wondering when to expect new content to drop into the Battle Royale game and its new Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival modes.
Typically Fortnite updates launch every other week on Tuesday, so players were expecting patch 28.20 to go live this morning.
Developer Epic Games has not posted its usual downtime warning, so the update is not happening today and has been likely planned for another day.
According to leaked early patch notes for update 28.20, we should expect new cosmetics, TMNT skins, other TMNT-themed content, and more.
Of course, these are based just on rumours and leaks, so we will have to wait and see what the update and event entail when they launch.

Since the new TMNT event has been teased by Epic Games to start this Friday, we can expect the update 28.20 to go live on Thursday, January 8, 2024.
Fortnite content updates always require several hours of downtime to be deployed into the game.
These usually start around 8am UK Time / 3am ET on launch day and last for 3-4 hours, and 28.20 will follow the same downtime schedule.
Players can find official information about upcoming patch deployments and unexpected Fortnite downtime via the Fortnite Status account on Twitter/X.
