Gary Madine was the penalty hero as Blackpool started the year with a tenacious 1-0 victory over Hull in the Championship.
Madine converted a 31st-minute spot kick after Josh Bowler, the former Tigers loanee and reported Nottingham Forest target, was fouled by Jacob Greaves.
