SCHOOL holidays are coming and a family road trip might be on the cards.

So get ready for your next adventure by reusing some everyday household items to organise your car.

Keep your family thriving while driving with these simple tricks . . .

ACTIVITY PACK: Repurpose a hanging shoe or make-up organiser by hanging it off the back of a car front seat.

Use the pockets to store small toys, crayons and other essentials for your trip.

A large transparent pocket also acts as an excellent tablet holder so that you can stream shows at eye height for those in the back to enjoy.

SNACK ATTACK: Fill kids’ drawstring backpacks with snacks.

Then invest in some car seat hooks — get a pack for £4.99 from amazon.co.uk — and fix on to the back of a front seat to hang the bags from.

It makes it easy for parents to dispense nibbles during the drive.

DRAWING BOARD: Keep clipboards in the side pockets of cars, with paper attached, ready for easy-access drawing and colouring activities.

Attach a retractable colouring pen to the top of the board — and just make sure kids colour on the paper not the seats.

DIVIDE & CONQUER: Repurpose fabric bins or household storage boxes to fit in the boot of your car.

These can hold various items such as extra clothes, shoes and picnic supplies, and keep sandy beach essentials away from clean items.

Label them for quick and easy access.

Another option is to attach a bungee cord horizontally across your boot, looped through the handles of your reusable supermarket shopping bags.

It creates handy storage at hardly any cost.

SPACE SAVER: Maximize the available space in your car by using vacuum-sealed bags for bulky items.

Pick up a pack of three at Wilko for £2.50, or you can also create the same effect by using thick bin bags — just tie in a knot once the air has been removed.
