STACKS OF STORAGE: The lid from a tube of Pringles fits perfectly on top of a Gu dessert ramekin.

It means you can use the pots to store food, screws, loose change, seeds or anything else that will fit.

With a lid, you could also use the mini dishes as a lunchbox container.

GET CRAFTY: Try decorating the pot. You could paint it or stick on buttons, small shells or sequins.

Beat the cost of lunching crisis with cheap & tasty sarnies, soups & pastas

Then put a tealight in the middle and you have a cute candle holder.

The ramekin can be used as a paint pot for children’s craft activities.

But if you are feeling a bit more hands on, why not turn them into your own candles?

TK Maxx has a beeswax candle kit for £7.99, which includes a wick and five sheets of wax.

SOW A SEED: The dishes will make a perfect home for a small succulent plant.

Put potting soil around the plant once it is in place, then add pebbles or moss as a finishing touch.

You could also use the little containers to grow cress.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Ketchup, mayo or other sauces can be served in the ramekins for the dinner table.

Or go back to where it started and make your own chocolate pot desserts.

Heat equal quantities of milk and cream, then pour over chopped chocolate, stirring until it is all melted.

Pour into ramekins and chill for two hours.

MORE THE MERRIER: The creative possibilities are endless, according to Charlotte Brown, senior brand manager at Gu.

She said: “We love seeing all the different ways our customers do their bit for the planet by reusing.”

If you find you need extra pots, Gu milk chocolate with ganache desserts are on offer at Asda, down from £3.40 to £2.60.

Or try Aldi’s Specially Selected salted caramel cheesecakes, £2.09.
