Federal Reserve governor Christopher Waller appeared to back another 0.75-percentage-point increase at the central bank’s meeting later this month in a speech Friday.

Officials have been debating whether to raise rates by 0.5 point and 0.75 point at their coming Sept. 20-21 policy meeting, but senior Fed leaders haven’t pushed back against market expectations of the larger increase in public comments this week.
