The Federal Bureau of Investigation is probing a robocall that urges recipients to “stay safe and stay home” over concerns that the message might be an attempt to suppress votes in Tuesday’s election, according to officials familiar with the matter.

The calls typically don’t identify the caller or provide a number to call back and it is unclear where they originate, according to telecommunications-industry officials. They were first detected by call-blocking services over the summer and the pace of the calls has intensified…
