WHILE Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 took the gaming world by storm, we don’t know what the next Spider-Man game will be.

However, a data breach revealed that developer Insomniac was working on a multiplayer Spider-Man game.

Leaked documents included the game’s name and concept, including that it would feature live-service elements, something that would have been new for the series.

At the time of the hack it was reported that the game had since been cancelled, but people were still intrigued by what it could have been.

More footage has since been unearthed and a one-minute trailer for Spider-Man: The Great Web has appeared online.

The trailer reveals a Spider-Verse-style game featuring different Spider-Men from different universes.

Alongside Yuri Lowenthal’s Peter Parker we spotted Miles Morales, Ben Reilly, Miguel O’Hara, and Gwen Stacy.

We see the different Spider-Men in combat with various enemies alongside some comic-style artwork.

Cindy Moon, known as Silk in the comics, who was teased at the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, can also be seen in the art with the rest of the heroes.

It also shows Venom as a playable character, and a way for the Spider-Men to enter other dimensions opening up the Multiverse.

Live-service games have seen a huge reduction in sales as too many titles in the genre have begun to flood the market.

In February, four big-name live-service games were launched, and only Helldivers 2 managed to be successful.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Skull & Bones, and Foamstars didn’t do as well as the companies expected them to.

The reason that Spider-Man: The Great Web was cancelled is unknown, but the teams since went on to different projects.
