How to save money at Tesco

If you’re an avid Tesco shopper then it’s really worth getting a Tesco Clubcard.

Clubcard customers get access to exclusive prices on selected items.

Some Tesco stores now offer a Scan as you Shop service, which means you can scan items with a barcode scanner as you walk around the supermarket.

Yellow stickers mean an item has been reduced in price, often because it’s close to the sell-by date or because it’s been damaged.

If you have a big freezer at home, and the food can be frozen, then the yellow sticker items are a great way to stock up on top brands for less.

There are no hard and fast rules when yellow sticker items will appear.

Some big stores start reductions at 8am, while others don’t start until early evening.

Look out for the “Exclusively at Tesco” range in store.

This range includes around 400 key items such as bread, tea bags and family meals, and the range is available across all stores.

According to Tesco, you can buy a basket of these items cheaper than you could buy at value-oriented competitors such as Aldi and Lidl.

And of course, don’t forget to bring your own bag, you’ll save at least 30p on each shop.

If you’ve previously bought a bag for life in store and it’s damaged beyond use you should be able to swap it out for another one completely free.

Tesco isn’t the only supermarket which is offering its customers the chance to stock up on bargains.

Sainsbury’s revealed all its Cadbury and Nestle large eggs would be reduced to just £2 from last week until today

Similarly, Morrisons has slashed the price of its Easter eggs to 75p if you have a More card.

Easter eggs of the Maltesers, Cadbury Buttons, Smarties, KitKat, and Freddo varieties now cost just 75p in Morrisons stores, this offer ends tomorrow February 21.
