If you’ve found a few old vouchers buried at the bottom of your wallet, it might not be too late to claim them.

Tesco vouchers are given to customers who earn points throughout the year using their Clubcard.

One point is given for every £1 you spend in-store or online, or one point for every £2 you spend on fuel.

If you rack up 150 points, you’ll receive a £1.50 voucher, and vouchers can be redeemed towards other food shops or with Tesco partners, like Pizza Express.

But the vouchers don’t last forever – they expire two years from the date they were issued.

This means customers have to use coupons first issued in August 2020 before the end of August this year or they will be invalid.

The exact date these vouchers will expire is Wednesday, August 31.

The vouchers can be used online and in stores to save money on weekly shopping or filing up with fuel.

They can also be swapped online with Tesco’s reward partners, such as Pizza Express or Cineworld, which boosts the value by up to three times.

You can trade the coupons in online on Tesco’s website, or use the app.

That means a £10 voucher could be turned into £30 with a number of partners, including Chessington World of Adventures and English Heritage.

Log on to the Tesco website or app to check when your vouchers will expire.

How can I extend my Clubcard vouchers?

Martin Lewis‘ Money Saving Expert (MSE) has explained that Tesco customers can extend the use of vouchers they have earned through the Clubcard loyalty scheme.

By simply making a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards website , you’ll get the remaining points credited back to your account.

For example, if you buy a 50p voucher with one of Tesco’s partners, like Pizza Express, you’ll get a £1.50 voucher to spend in the restaurant and the rest of your points will return to your Clubcard for another two years.

So if you had £10 worth of points and you buy a 50p restaurant voucher, the remaining £9.50 will go back to your account instead of expiring.

Find your nearest Tesco store using the branch locator online.

How does Tesco Clubcard work?

Clubcard vouchers are collected when you scan your membership card at the till at Tesco.

You get one point for every £1 spent – or one point for every £2 on fuel – and 150 points is equivalent to a £1.50 voucher.

It’s better value for money to spend vouchers with one of Tesco’s reward partners, but you can also spend them on your supermarket shopping.

Points are worth up to three times more when you redeem them with one of the supermarket’s partners.

Shoppers who use their Clubcard can also get discounts on selected items.
