FANCY seeing a top musical over Christmas but can’t afford £100 for a ticket?
No need to make a scene — there are plenty of ways to bag a cut-price seat. Here’s how to get a ticket for as little as £6.50.
APPY DAYS: Dubbed “the Uber of theatre tickets”, the TodayTix app offers London theatre passes with savings of up to 70 per cent.
This week I spotted a £25 ticket to Only Fools And Horses: The Musical in the Royal Circle at the Theatre Royal Haymarket — half the price of a nearby seat sold on the venue’s website.
When buying the tickets you’re encouraged to spread the word about the shows on social media.
Save: £25
LAST-MINUTE STEALS: Seat-filling services like My Box Office (£7.50 annual membership), the Audience Club (£5 charity donation required) or Central Tickets sell heavily discounted or free tickets to shows and concerts in London. The tickets are available last minute and, crucially, you must not openly boast about how little you’ve paid.
This week Central Tickets offered a pair of seats for a West End show (can’t say which!) for £13. On the official website, the cheapest pair were £39.

SECRET SEATS: The Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames, South West London, lets you book up to four “secret seats” for £10 each at selected shows and be guaranteed seats worth up to £40 each on the night. The Lyceum in Edinburgh offers a similar deal.
Save: £120
CONCESSIONS: Check for age- related discounts. At the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, under-30s can get tickets worth £35 for £7. Sign up to theatre and ticket agencies’ newsletters for deals.
Save: £28
LUCK OF THE DRAW: Look out for ticket lotteries. Matilda The Musical in the West End offers seats worth at least £70 for just £25 at every performance. You can enter once a fortnight.
