A FLAGSHIP Ann Summers store is sitting abandoned after shutting its doors for good.
The retailer’s major shop on Glasgow’s Argyle Street has closed down, but there’s hope for shoppers yet.

Photos of the store show empty shelves and boxes piled up in the windows of the once-bustling lingerie hub.
Ann Summers, best known for its playful underwear and collection of sex toys, said the store was being moved elsewhere in the city centre.
The closure comes after the landlord closed three units in the area, The Sun understands.
But shoppers will be delighted to hear they won’t have to venture too far to get their lingerie fix.

The brand is relocating, though an exact spot for the new branch has not been named.
In the meantime there is also another Ann Summers in the City.
A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that this store is relocating and we look forward to celebrating the opening of our new store with our customers soon.”
“In the meantime, our customers are welcome to visit our Buchanan Galleries store.”

The nearby shop in Glasgow’s Buchanan Galleries was opened on Valentine’s Day with retail sales were up 7.6% since 2020.

Four or five stores are also slated to open throughout 2024.
It’s another story for other retailers across the country which are struggling to keep their doors open.
The Mount Plesant Tesco Express in Liverpool will be permanently closing on November 15 in a blow to nearby university students.
Boots is also set to pull the shutters down for good on two shops as part of a huge store shake-up.
Other big names such as Wilko struggled, with the popular retailer going into administration in August after failing to find a buyer.
