The billionaire CEO posted the short video on X, formerly Twitter, and received thousands of comments.

“Going for a walk with Optimus,” Musk captioned the video.

A lot of fans were delighted with the short footage of the humanoid.

“Gait is a lot more natural looking than I expected,” one wrote.

“Love these Optimus updates. Great seeing the improvements,” another said.

There were other fans who raised concerns and joked about the end of the world.

“This ain’t gonna go over well,” wrote one viewer, while also posting a picture of a terrifying scene from the Terminator movie.

“HAS NO ONE SEEN THE MOVIE IROBOT?!” another concerned person exclaimed.

While, one person simply wrote, “Kill it with fire.”

That comment alone got 199 likes and Musk’s initial post received 165,000.

Several users joked that the robot walked just like President Joe Biden.

The 15-second clip shows the life-size black robot walking in a room with a few observers.

Tesla revealed its Optimus Gen 2 robot in December 2023.

It’s said to stand at 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 121 lbs.

One of Musk’s aims for his humanoid bots is to see them take over laborious tasks from humans.

The Tesla CEO also said he’d like the robots to become companions for humans.

“It could develop a personality over time that is unique. It’s not like all the robots are the same.

“That personality could evolve to match the owner, or whatever you want to call it,” Musk told the Lex Fridman podcast.

He also said the bots could do “repetitive and boring work” and could one day make “the perfect buddy”.

Tesla first announced the concept for its robot in 2021 and unveiled the prototype in 2022.

Musk previously said that the robot will cost no more $20,000, although an exact price has never been revealed.
