EASTER eggs are on sale in supermarkets just days after Christmas — leaving shoppers absolutely baffled.
Asda is offering Cadbury’s Creme Eggs, packs of Mini Egg and Oreo chocolate eggs.
And budget store B&M has also started stocking Creme Eggs and Mini Eggs.
Both chains put the stock on sale on Tuesday, despite Easter Sunday falling four months away – on April 17.
Cadbury Twirl eggs were out on display at a Southampton Morrisons on Boxing Day.
Baffled Holly Watson told The Sun: “I haven’t even thought about taking down the tree yet, and we haven’t sung Auld Lang Syne, but here are the supermarkets flogging their Easter treats.
“It’s a sad state of affairs.”
A shopper who spotted choc eggs in a Halifax Asda said: “It makes you feel a bit ill.

“Can’t get one celebration out of the way before they are forcing the next down your throat, literally!”
Another shopper wrote: “Hard to believe Christmas was days ago. This is my B&M already.”
A customer cursed: “Local supermarket selling Easter eggs! Christmas leftovers aren’t even finished yet FFS!!!!”
Asda began taking deliveries of the Easter treats in the middle of this month.
One confused chocolate fan quipped: “You can always tell Christmas is here, they sell Easter eggs in the shops.”
On Monday, shoppers were left stunned when they spotted hot cross buns lining supermarket shelves.

Easter is not for another four months, with treats like Easter Eggs usually released in the springtime.
Mini Eggs are available year-round, with Creme Eggs hitting shelves on January 1 – but they’re not usually in Easter displays just yet.
Next year Easter falls on Sunday, April 17 – 109 days away.
