How can I check if Discord is not working?
There are some websites that report server outages for different websites like Discord.
Users can visit the Down Detector website when they are experiencing issues to see if others are having the same problem.
The social platform X, formerly known as Twitter, is also useful when checking for outages to see if others in your area are having trouble.
If it appears the problem may not be widespread, try checking the internet connection on your device or exiting the app before logging back in.

Who owns Discord?
The concept of Discord came from Stanislav Vishnevsky, the founder of the social gaming platform Guildwork, and Jason Citron, founder of OpenFeint.
It was first launched on May 13, 2015.
Discord is still a privately held company, regardless of buyout talks with companies such as Microsoft.
After selling OpenFeint to GREE in 2011 for $104million, Citron founded the game development studio known as Hammer & Chisel, according to TechCrunch.
Originally aimed at gamers, Discord quickly became popular in the eSports and LAN tournament communities.
In June 2020, they rebranded to move away from a focus on gaming.
Citron remains the CEO of the company, with Vishnevsky acting as the CTO (Chief Technology Officer).
