It then reopened three weeks later after “huge support from the town and local authorities”.

Now October 28 will be its last day of trading for the retail side of the operation.

A closing down sale is offering of up to 70 per cent off, with even the shop fittings and fixtures available to purchase.

Owner Serkan Arslan opened Rebos in October 2021, but said he could not rescue the business.

He told the BBC: “There are less people in the town, energy prices are going up again and there is the cost of living crisis, of course.

“It’s been very hard to tell our amazing team they are losing their jobs, it’s in the double figures.

“I’ve tried every angle to save Rebos but it’s down to so many external factors.”

Mr Arslan confirmed that the play area, restaurant and cafe would remain open.

A spokesperson for Rebos said: “Having re-launched the store in April this year, the business has now concluded that despite all our efforts, due to the current poor economic climate, there is no option but to close our retail business.

“Rebos Play, Cafe and Restaurant will remain open.”
