Italy considers national lockdown over Christmas while Portugal has banned New Year’s Eve gatherings
The Spanish government has warned that the country could be facing a “third wave” of Covid-19 infections and announced the first round of vaccinations will begin on 27 December.
The warning came as Italy prepared to outline new restrictions that could lead to the country going into complete lockdown over the Christmas and new year period, and France’s president, Emmanuel Macron, continued to self-isolate after testing positive for the virus.
