COFFEE connoisseurs are set to be rewarded with a free on-the-go drink this week.

Costa Coffee is offering customers the chance to score a free beverage at certain stores from Friday.

When at the store, coffee fans just need to scan the Costa Club mobile app when buying their drink and the reward will automatically load.

Customers can then choose between from the bottled Frappé range or select flavours from its coffee in a can range.

The purchase must be made via Click & Collect, in participating stores or via self-serve Costa Express machines.

This offer is available on Friday 1 July and rewards must be collected in a participating Costa Coffee shop from Saturday 2 July to Thursday 7 July.

Up for grabs is the Smooth Coffee, Caramel Swirl or Choc Fudge Brownie from the bottled Frappé range.

Alternatively, Costa Coffee fans may prefer a classic Latte, Vanilla Latte or sweet Caramel Latte from the coffee in a can.

In another sweet offer for customers, anyone who signs up for the mobile app will be gifted 50 per cent off their first drink for the month of July.

As a member, you’ll receive a free drink after any four hot or cold handcrafted drink purchases when you use a reusable cup.

For people yet to take up reusable cups, they’ll get a free drink after any eight purchases.

Members also receive a free slice of cake for their birthday.

Last week, Costa Coffee gave thirsty Brits a chance to cool off from the soaring temperatures with one of the café giants iced treats.

The coffee house has been generously gifting free drinks to customers throughout the month.

The high street drinks chain was on hand to help shoppers sweltering in the 34C heat with free “over-ice” delights two weeks ago too.

How to get free food and drinks

Even without the special offers, there’s still other ways you can be rewarded.

If you’re not committed to one food chain and just want to find what freebies are available at the time, deals sites can help you find them.

Websites like HotUkDeals, Money Saving Expert and LatestDeals are among those where people share the freebies they’ve spotted.

Places also give away free cake and sweet treats on your big day such as Cafe Nero, Greggs and Krispy Kreme.

Frankie and Benny’s and Pizza Express offer a bottle of b’day fizz for free too.

On top of loyalty schemes and birthday treats, many chains also give regular deals and offers to people who have downloaded their apps.

For instance McDonald’s regularly offers promotions like via the MyMcDonald’s app, including a free coffee.

It’s not just apps where you’ll find offers and discounts.

Newsletters and updates via email are sent out by many food and drink places.

For instance pub chains often give away free drinks, though these can be limited.
