FANS of Costa Coffee will be pleased to hear that many of their stores will remain open over the Easter Bank Holiday.
Here, we tell you how you can get your hands on their products over the holidays and the rules about opening on Easter Sunday.
Is Costa open over the Easter Bank Holiday?
You may be in luck if you want to taste a Costa Coffee over the Bank Holiday weekend, as many stores are open.
A Costa coffee spokesperson said: “The opening hours of all 2,800 Costa Coffee stores over the bank holiday weekend may vary.
“We would therefore advise customers to check in with their local store via the Costa Coffee website or Costa Coffee app to avoid disappointment.
“Customers can also continue to enjoy their favourite Costa coffee from any of our 12,800 Costa Express machines, which operate 365 days a year and are located all across the UK.”
The store locator is available on their website, with information on individual opening times, so it best to check this first to avoid disappointment.
What shops are closed over the Easter bank Holiday?
Because of rules set out by the UK government, shops which are over 280 square metres in size must close their doors and observe the Bank Holiday.
This means that large chains such as B&Q, Homebase, as well as supermarkets such as Asda and Tesco, will close their doors got the whole day.
This doesn’t take effect in Scotland though, as there are no trading restrictions enforced, meaning larger shops can open.

Stores that are under the 280 square metre size limit are allowed to stay open, as these are classed as small shops.
This means that smaller versions of supermarkets, such as Sainsbury’s local, can remain open.
This can also mean that cafes and coffee shops can open their doors on Easter Sunday because of their smaller size.
Other retailers have no obligation to close on this day, but employers may choose to give their staff the day off.
