‘We have got to get inflation back under control’ says environment secretary

Britain’s environmental secretary, George Eunice, has critiqued Rishi Sunak’s plan for the cost of living grant which has been issued to some homes.

George told Sky News that the risk of borrowing money could lead to a nationwide housing crisis.

The domino effect, he believes, would be a knock on from the current energy price hike the UK has seen.

He said by borrowing large amounts of money, the UK could see further inflation increases.

Inflation rocketed to 8.2 per cent this year, reported the Office of National Statistics.

He gave a stark warning that if the UK does not get inflation under control, and mortgage costs rise, some people may not be able to afford living in their homes.
